A cousin of ours recently noticed that their daughter had 2nd degree chemical burns on her back. The doctors related it to her tagless clothing, which is made by Carter's. The doctors apparently said it was from formaldehyde, but Carter's says otherwise.
So for those of you with kids who wear tagless clothing by Carter's, or anyone for that matter, here is what I have found so far regarding the issue.

UPDATE! Here is another link concerning the labels, from zrecommends.com. The family member who has the daughter has called Carter's and was told it was "heat rash" and not to worry about it. Meanwhile, her "heat rash" was oozing a brownish/green liquid, and has since turned into leathery scaly scars. This will probably go away as her skin heals, but it is definitely NOT a heat rash. A doctor has already confirmed it to be a chemical burn.
